Best Los Angeles area mechanics/shops for vacuum repairs?

Hi all,

A little over a year ago, I made the horrific mistake of messing with what was essentially a perfectly working vacuum system. I was just replacing some of the old, dried rubber parts in my SD's engine bay, but something must have become disconnected or loosened behind the firewall, as I immediately had some shut off problems (had never occurred before), as well as door locks that wouldn't open after a very brief period with the car off. I tried to have my prior mechanic fix the system, but the only change is that he somehow hooked my electronic ACC box to the wrong line so now the A/C only works on DEF (facepalm).

I would try to do the work myself, but the car is in California under the care of a family member, so hoping to find someone trustworthy to put things back how they were!

Hi Amilio,
I got this info from Tom Hanson two years ago:
Marx MB Service in Costa Mesa. Steve or Jeff, 949 548-1153.

I don't know how good they are, or if they do the type of work you need. But if recommended by Tom, I believe they know their stuff. I am in need of some work as well on my 1980 6.9 and may give them a call myself. Thanks.

White Oak Mercedes in Encino. Mike and Kam are awesome. They are the only guys that touch my 450 SEL

Nice, that's where I ended up going! They did a respectable job, especially on the locks; couldn't get my ACC unit working, but it's an aftermarket electronic unit so I don't blame them. That's something I'll have to sort out myself I reckon. Considering going back to a servo if issues continue.
