As expected NLA. Have not removed covers yet. What is the original material, cork or what?
Any recommended manufacturer would be appreciated.

I believe you can buy direct from Elring, but then you need to buy several sets and sell yourself.

Last ones I bought for one of our forum members were some sort of compressed paper I believe.

The 6.9 valve cover gaskets are a composite of rubber like material and a central foil layer akin to the m110 units

Checked in with my old mechanic who says that guys are using a product for Honda timing covers. A grey silicone type adhesive. Anyone familiar with this?

I would avoid any type of liquid sealant.  It will harden, then break off in chunks which will make it's way to the oil pan and block the oil pickup. Worse case a large chunk can get stuck in the chain and cause a jumped tooth and then it's bye-bye engine.
