Yes, mine and WGB's arrived today.

Dont worry nathan, TJ's been waiting at your letter box for the past 2 weeks - you better be guarding it with a shotgun now that he knows its comming any day now ;)

Not to worry, I'll just pull out my long range Mercedes Shuriken. ;D

The Saudi Royal Garage - that explains it.

Anyway one valve arrived yesterday and will see today if the other has arrived as no-one collected the mail yesterday.

With the kind of stocks of these valves the Saudi's had, it suggests they must have had a stores inventory to rival the best MB main dealers anywhere in the world.

Out of interest, what are people being quoted for second hand valves (not refurbished) ? Last time I inquired, I was quoted between A$300 & $400, and I notice that they are being offered on German eBay at EUR 650,00 - also not refurbished. Then you have the new Saudi ones which are still being offered at US$569 or offer, and another at US$749.95.

makes no sence to buy second hand or refurbished, when for the same price you can get new, if you look hard enough ;)

CraigS

Of course, but that situation will not last forever, and at some point, will have to revert to Mercedes for parts. The list price is/was US$1870 but is NLA so second hand units will become the norm.

by the sounds of things, they can be rebuilt carefully. No one should be throwing away old 6.9 leveling valves under any circumstances, they will all be required again one day ;)

Nathan,

I do hope your valve turns up soon - I can't stand the suspense.

happy days are here again! i picked up my valve from the post office today - 3 cheers for PB for finding this obscure source of parts.
unfortunately mine fell out of its box in its postage and has a few dings on the corner, but ultimately a new part that will now go in my cupboard!

I do apologise on behalf of the seller, as the owner of the valves went on holidays and instructed his son to post them off. Subsequently, they were insufficiently packaged and have sustained some mild cosmetic damage. None the less, they should function perfectly as they are N.O.S.
