6.9 strut boots. What to do?

Certainly many of the 6.9 guys have experienced cracked, worn out rubber strut boots. Unfortunately, all of mine are shot and need to be replaced. Of course this is a bit difficult since the boots are NLA. The MB P/N is 1163280292.

Has anyone found an alternate boot that can be used?  I sure wish someone had the important dimensions of a boot.

If anyone has some spares, I'd be willing to buy them. Or, if you don't want to sell, can someone measure the ID and length?

Thanks!

Craig

Oh? I'll have to call another dealer.  Park Place Dallas told me they had zero in the US and Germany and that they are NLA.

Did you recently buy some, rumb?

I use this for every part I order.  I have only once seen a part listed as available and it wasnt.

note you have to put an "A" in front of the part number with no spaces.

I then order from https://www.mboemparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-seal-boot-spring-vlr-1163280292

they are 28% off list, use benzworld2017 coupon code for free shipping.

Thanks, guys!  Fingers crossed that this will work. Looks like the boots are the same for all 4 struts.

Yes strangely the front strut shafts were only protected by a steel cup near the ball joint and the bump stop at the bottom of the cylinder.

Honestly I don't feel the rear strut boots are overly durable so I'd be looking at aftermarket options too. I'm sure there's lots to choose from in the 4x4 camp.

Oh BTW the ball joint dust boots x 4 are an entirely different animal....
