6.9 shocks..

Do the so-called "sports" shocks fit 6.9's with standard shocks? (Both hydro of course)
Has anyone driven in a 6.9 with them, does it make much difference?

6.9 standard and 'sports' struts are physically interchangeable. 

My blue euro '76 6.9 has new standard struts in, and it has the 'magic carpet' ride, albeit vague and wallowy.

My red euro '78 6.9 has sports struts in, and it is so much tighter and better than the blue car, there really is no comparison.

My black '83 full hydro euro 500SEL has struts modified by Lorinser, and the ride is similar to that of the red 6.9

My grey '82 full hydro euro 500SEL has standard struts.  The car is not running yet, but I'm curious to see how it handles.

It would be very interesting to know how they were modified and whether that modification could be performed on all struts.

I would presume it has different baffling inside which is more resistant to fluid flow.
