6.9 intake manifold upper to lower hoses & clamps

I'm slowly getting my 6.9 back together. I want to replace the 8 short hoses that connect the upper and lower halves of the intake manifold. I bought a long piece of silicone hose for this.

My question is, what would be a good way to secure these? It looks like the old rubber hoses had some kind of plastic strap. Should I use a zip tie? Or maybe buy some hose clamps? I found these Gemi ones that look consistent with the rest of the car:

I'm just worried there might not be room enough for them (the screw part). But zip ties are kinda janky and might not clamp properly.

Good question actually ???  I would say cable ties would work, but that is such a high temp area, they will become brittle very quick with all the heat cycling.  If you have a tight fit, do you even need any sort of tie down?
Not the kind of job you would want to do twice I guess, so I would lean towards a hose clamp if you can get it on there of course.

If you're using a typical hose, I'd definitely opt for good quality hose clamps, one at each end. The original rings have that band around them as they rely on compression of the rubber to seal and the bands contain the outward force.

Personally, I would use the original part, although they are rather expensive these days.

Having done this twice, take Tim's advice. you know the real deal will last another 30 years and works a treat....this is not a wheel that needs reinventing.

Oof @ $70 USD a pop that is not exactly a bargain :o

Are we talking the rubber do nuts that sit in crush between the inlet manifold lower plenum and upper inlet tract?
I paid 100 bux for a new set only 2 years ago....what's going on here?

The price has gone up considerably, it must be low stock now. Removing the intake manifold on a 6.9 is an expensive task now.

well there's a little cottage industry business going begging. :P
Surely these things would a be a doddle to have made.?
