6.9 dashboard suspension switch

How hard it it to get to the dashboard switch?  I want to unplug the socket from the switch.  This would leave the suspension pressure sensor function intact but take the switch out of the circuit.  But if it takes a lot of disassembly then it isn't worth it.  Thanks and cheers,

Not too hard, you need to pull the instrument cluster, then you can access the switch unit.

Excellent!  I'll do it.  I'm hoping that the switch is indeed bad.  Thanks Daniel,

Did this today while swapping the instrument cluster for a better one.  No dice.  The control switch was good, which is bad.  Will execute Plan B.

Then two things.....confirm that your hydraulic system is putting out enough pressure to turn the light off.  If it is, then the switch would have to be bad.  Granted, there could be a wiring issue, but I believe you said that you checked that.  The pressure switch shows to still be available.  Part number 001-545-23-11.....but they're proud if it.  It retails for $595 and wholesales for $408.

More progress on this vexing problem.  I swapped the pump for another known to be good.  System still works fine but light is still on.  However, today I noticed another odd symptom that may reveal something.  When the engine is running the front axle is at the right height (26").  However, I noticed that after sitting a day or 2 the front actually raises an inch or so while the rear sinks about 1cm.  I can scarcely believe it.  I'm going to recheck and recheck again, but it seems to be the case.  I noticed it before but didn't actually measure, just thought I was imagining things.  Is there some kind of fault that would cause this behavior?  Now I'm thinking about taking the regulator and switch apart to see if there's something in there messing up the works.  Otherwise car is running great.  Cheers,
-Dave

Sounds like there is an internally leaking leveling valve.  This could also cause the system not to come up to pressure and not extinguish the light.  Again, put actual gauges on the car and see what your pressures are doing.
