hi all,

I'm in the process of converting my 1980 w116 300sd to a manual transmission and I have a few questions for anyone who was done the same project:

1. how, if at all, do I need to modify the clutch/brake pedal cluster from a w123 to work for my purposes?

2. how much do I need to shorten the 240d shift linkages?

3. how do i wire up the neutral start switch / bypass it?

4. from what research I've done, the w123 240d and manual w116 gassers in europe used the same clutch lines, so I won't have to source those parts, correct?

got the transmission bolted in this weekend so the bulk of the grunt work is done, now I'm just trying to figure out getting the car to interface properly with the transmission

thanks!

gO UNDER THE AUTO TRANNY there will be 2 or 3 wires grip fixed on the tranny switch. Remove these wires one by one they are for tw function reverese light switch and nss.

When u remove one by one check which wire removal resut in non-working revese light. The other wire relates to nss!! twist the nss wire together and ur car will start
