Title: 280SE engine mount
Post by: hamidagha on 31 December 2020, 05:56 AM
Hi everyone and a happy new year!
Being in a lockdown, I thought it is time time to tinker with my 1979 280SE, and I was looking at the engine mounts.
Can you please look at the photo of the driver's side engine mount (it is a Right Hand Drive, so Right hand of engine).
Is there a bolt missing where I have placed an arrow? If so, anyone know part number.
Thanks in advance.

That is the hole where the large Allen bolt goes in from underneath. Nothing to worry about so long as the bolt is still in there. They usually are and very tight. If you haven't changed the mounts on both sides by now I suggest you do them. The rubbers are had it by now. I did mine a few months back as they were almost totally collapsed.

Thanks. I will look from underneath to make sure the bolts are in.
The mounts look solid but as you said worth checking.
