I might miss the dealine, as I'm going to Albany next weekend. Just a slight PITA factor, but we'll see.

Well,

It's all back together and running. I even drove the car this evening with no scrubbed tyres... It should be "easy" for the shop to align the front end, which is the next step.

After the car is registered, I'll get a set of shocks, rear swaybar links and fit the front lower ball joints.

Indeed, but I'm not going to loose any sleep over it. The deadline is next Friday.

I am sure your determination will get you there on time and I hope it passes with flying colours.

Don't let the new "Major Mouse" pressurise you. ;D

Do you mean Mr Connected?

Yes, I'm used to being pressured by MT. 8)

In this case I'm still waiting for a part, but I'll book it in for the Friday anyway. If luck is on my side, all will be fine.

It's all coming along nicely. The "part" arrived... It was actually the reversing light switch I ordered from Joe.

The car had the front end aligned today, and it will be inspected on Friday morning... Just in time!

See the "Rego thread" for the latest (I didn't want to go OT).

Tim,

did you find that the ride hight at the front of the car was slightly higher after redoing the bushings.  I've just replace all the front end bushings and shocks in my 450SE and the ride hight is up about 10mm?

I forgot about this thread... ::)

The ride height on mine didn't change as far as I could see, although the front end was actually sound. If the top bushings have failed, you can get a lot of negative camber, and that would result in some settling.

I will say though, new shocks make a tremendous difference in the overall feel of the car.

Thanks for that.  Mine were bad and caused an 'advisory' note during the rego check.  This and the new shocks have taken the front end from being really sloppy to nice and sharp.  The steering box is the next thing and hopefully all will be the way it should after that.
