1980 Fuel Pump

Hi All,

I have recently replaced my fuel pump as my old packed up. Is there any issue using a 76/77 pump on a 80 model 450SEL. The new pump is Bosch 0580254984 only difference is the old inlet was bigger 15mm and the new is 12mm. Would this restrict fuel flow? As when the car is warm it feel like it will stall?

That's correct. On 1980 the pump inlet will be bigger than the 1976/77 models. Did you change the fuel damper too? Your replacement will probably work okay though obviously it had become bigger for a reason so fitting an older style pump is a retrograde step.
