1980 300SD Axle Assembly

Hey guys I've got a 1980 300sd. Recently one of the boots on the rear axle cracked and all the oil leaked out on my garage floor.

I'm going to remove the axle and I was really just going to replace it with a brand new complete assembly since I already have it out of the car.

I plan on doing this for both sides of the car so then I won't have to worry about it for another several hundred thousand miles.

Does anyone know where I can get 1980 300sd w116 complete axle assemblies?

rebuilds will be your best bet. It sounds like the axles never made it out of the garage while they split open. Which is good for rebuilding.
