yellow lines?

just something i always wanted to no, what are the yellow lines between 50kph and 60 kph on my 6.9's speedo?

I'm pretty certain it coincides with built-up area speed limits in Europe... AFAIK, all European cars had the marking at the time. Certainly, Volvo, SAAB and Peugeot had them.

I don't recall seeing it in the handbook but remember reading somewhere (maybe on a forum) what TJ says.

In the States, it's 55MPH that's marked.  It gives us a 15MPH buffer between the speed limit and the 70MPH we actually drive.

That is unless you are looking at the shift points.  Mine are marked with dots.

Oh, are they yellow diagonal lines? I think they are "warning" lines, telling you to be careful at that speed. My 1968 200D has a "thermometer" speedometer that rises with speed. The indicator bar starts out as one color, then as the speed increases, it changes to a yellow striped bar, then it becomes solid red. Kind of interesting.
