Title: Wood steering wheels
Post by: PMcG on 17 October 2020, 03:15 AM
Does anyone know if someone makes a 420mm version of wooden steering wheels similar to these but thinner wood?  Looking for a recommended custom shop.  Any information is greatly appreciated!

I want to put a wood wheel in my car, but I don't want to spend Nardi $$ to do so.

Here are some options I found.  Would like to hear feedback from anyone with experience with any of these...

I've come across some of those as well.  Great prices!  The problem I was finding is the right adapter pieces, that is, once I could find a 420mm wheel that won't obscure the speedometer when installed.  Having a little difficulty finding the right adapter (how many bolts? 6, 9, 12?) as well.  If anyone has any experience in that regard, do let me know!

Try this search:

There are many wood wheels that include the adapter.  Remember that w116 have 2 different spline sizes.

What are the two different spline sizes?  I actually wound up with one of the 380mm wood ones from an SL.  Why MBZ did not make a 420mm version of the same beautiful wheel is beyond me lol.
