took delivery of my new front window componentry.

new regulators, shackles sliding jaws and mount kits - every single moving / wear and tare item will be replaced. (except the motors, they are fine) Not pictured is the new window runs (black rubber channels)

all genuine, one regulator manufactured in 2006 and the other july 2009.

Not bad for a 30 year old car, bet some manufacturers dont even stock regulators for 10 year old models still.

Awesome.  That should lead to an enlightning window winding experience.  Its always exciting to see new bits going into a W116.

Now that is cool!

It will also be a very interesting experience having practically new windows.

prior to installation, I'm going to need to find a some white lithium grease, or what ever else is most recommended for these mechanisms.

Windows 79, I'm still on XP :P

I love seeing these parts, brand new in box.  Knowing that so much is still replaceable.

How about your new channels, MT....in that manual windows thread I said the cause of stiff windows are channels that loose their fuzziness so there's more rubber to glass contact hence more friction.  Is there a big difference between the new and old channels as in the amount of furry stuff on the rubber?

u r going to be very disappointed when you replace your old functioning stuff with the new bits, and get the inevitable angled window syndrome! ;)

dunno, havent compared new to old yet  8)

buying new parts is easy, fitting them is the hard part.

I suspect the quality of the metal used in the casting would be a lot better (an assumption, no fact's available as yet)

that there is approx $800au including express postage.

window rubbers were a seperate order and i cant remember how much they were, from memory perhaps 150 each.

This order was placed at the peak of the AU dollar most recently, so now expect to pay another 20% for the same order  8)

Impeccable timing, as always  8)
