Post by: irvine on 10 August 2018, 02:46 AM
Hey everyone, just a quick question regarding the chrome outside window trim, the one the window winds down into the door.
I'm looking at removing it as I need to repair some paint.

Hey ha is,

It sits on top of of the "scraper" seals, hooked into four metal clips. To get it off it needs to be pried off from the bottom end very carefully.
Depending on the condition of these clips, this can turn into a horror show relatively quickly if they're rusted.

I use a wide plastic trim tool and insert in bottom and drive then drive straight up. work back and forth and the trim should come out fairly easily. dont pry out as that will bend the trim. just straight up.

So it's simply pushed down into the door frame? Sweet, I'll just be careful.

Thanks guys.
