A friend of mine wants to paint his 450slc in a metallic green....it is currently a horrible rust red.
He has spotted one in a French ad from 40 years ago ...I kinda recognise it because we never got the colour in Aus in any model BUT, I reckon I have seen a UK import green 350SE.
The green in question is a dark metallic green..........
I reckon it is Cypress Green code DB876.
There is a lighter metallic green code DB861....it's not that.
So....anyone got any model that is DB876 OR throw some light on what it might be?

Thanks for that. That is the green I am thinking of but only ever seen it on an import 350se?
Can anyone out there chip in if they know for a fact that that that green is in fact DB876?

That is most likely DB825 Tiefgrün (Deep green), but that was a solid colour.
The darkest metallic green was indeed DB876 Zypressengrün (Cypress green), but the car above looks too dark for it. Could just be the light playing tricks though.

Nice article in the June/July issue of Mercedes Enthusiast about a 6.9 in what is stated to be Cypress Green quotes as 876G.

Possibly 862 Pine Green Metallic, Forum record shows as 1972-74 colour, see "Collecting Cars" website 1974 Armoured 450SE-resprayed though data card shows above code as original
