Title: wheels mexcian hat paint colour

Hi

I've done a bit of a search but could not find a definitive answer to :
what is the correct colour of the "mexican hat"  mags W116 era.?
I'm sure this has come up before....?

This was discussed over at M100 I believe about 10 years ago.  I believe it was PaulNL who gave the definitive answer of RAL9700.  Don't quote me on that number I may have it wrong.  I'll send him an email to see if he can confirm.

I thought it was 180 silbergrau?

The Mercedes equivalent from 1968 up to 1976 was 180 silver.  From 1976 to 1985 the Mercedes equivalent is 735 Astral silver.  The reason for the switch was that in 1975 180 silver was discontinued.
