Trying to find the colour of my interior on my 75 280S (Australian delivered). Datacard says 465 (unless I'm looking i the wrong spot) but all I read says it should start with 0,1,2 or 9??? My wife says it's leather.
The closest seems to be Leder Creme (265) on http://www.meinbenz.de/polster/116/polster116.htm but mine seems to be more white. What do you reckon?

Saw this online, may or may not be accurate though:

Note that MB tex colors are lighter than on leather. I may be wrong but that picture looks like mbtex. In many cases you have to be aware of the date range as well as the color code to get correct one.
I looked around and couldn't find code 465 anywhere.
I can't find any evidence of an interior trim code starting with a 4.....but I could be mistaken. It's not unheard of for there to be mistakes on the data card. So maybe it was a misprint? I'm just guessing. The closest thing I can find is trim code 365, (see picture below) which was a Stoffposlterungen, or a cloth like material that was plaid or with stripes. It may have had vinyl outer bolsters with the cloth in the middle, too.
We know for sure that your car had what was called Parchment colored interior. The "65" denotes that. The first number is indicative of what type of material was used. For example, a "2" would mean leather, and a "1" would mean MB-Tex, or an "0" would mean plain cloth. So until we determine if a "4" ever exited or not we'll have to asume that what's in there now might be correct. Your guess is as good as mine at this point in time.
Thanks all for the help, so far it's looking like a misprint!!
I'm 99% sure it's MB Tex now, the sides of the seats aren't wrinkled like the leather sides.
Just seen another interior the identical colour as mine with code 165. So looks like it was a misprint. Cheers for all the help!!!
Hi,
465 is defined this way based on MBTex:

Awesome, thanks tcj!
TCJ, what is that document, and can I get a copy somehow? :)
@Ptashek,
sorry, its a flipbook of VDH, and the flipbooks are down because "Thomas Rücker" misused them.

Thomas
