w126 seats in the w116

I just scored a set of blue leather seats from a 1985 380SE, and they're in very good condition. Not perfect, but the best I've seen in years of looking. They have the same stitching style as the w116 seats.

Both my 6.9 and my 280S have blue interiors. The 6.9 has leather, the driver seat is pretty worn out and has some broken springs. The 280S has vinyl seats which still have good upholstery, but they're super squishy. I can't decide which car gets the new seats!

I'm leaning towards putting them into the 6.9. The problem is, I'd have to run power wires, and I'm not sure I want to "molest" the 6.9. Or is having power seats worth it? Even if I swapped the tracks for manual w116 ones, I'd still need a switch (and power) to control the backrest.

Personally I like to keep things stock but I must say I find the 116 seats wanting in side  bolster support. Especially in sweeping corners you tend to slide sideways quite a bit.

W126 seats are very similar. The front seats fit straight into the W116 I think. Rears don't fit ::)
