The 126 is actually an inch or so narrower than the 116 - supposedly in the name of aerodynamics and efficiency.

I have both w116 and W126 but I have to say I prefer the look of the 116 for that classic look and the 126 I like if for nothing they were a stylish looking car which even today still looks modern,says a lot for Mercedes design team.Has anybody looked into finding a common chrome bumper from the wreckers just to add that little extra appeal.Maybe something else for me to look into;regards Dave(7mercs)
