USA Bumper part name/numbers

Just spent 20 minutes at the dealership looking at the parts fiche and we can't figure out what to order.  I need the body clip that attaches to the rubber end cap that wraps around the front fender.  Descriptions on the fiche are ""bolt" and "nut" and the fiche doesn't show where they go.  It has a bracket that slides into the rubber end cap.  Wonderful engineering on those 5 mph bumpers.  The bracket allows the bumper to collapse and the end caps to slide back.

Any ideas?  Thanks a ton.

From memory there is a rubber pad that goes against the fender  then just a washer and 13mm bolt on the inside of the fender.
Been a while so I stand to be corrected  ;D

If I remember correctly, that piece you're speaking of is made into the rubber corner piece, and was never available separately.  You had to buy the whole rubber corner piece.  It's actually a threaded stud, not a clip.  In the picture below, you'll notice that only the hardware (nuts and flat/wavy washers) and rubber insulating pads are shown. No unlisted parts are shown in the parts list, either.  The actual rubber corner pieces,   116-880-21-70 (left side), and 116-880-22-70 (right side), are no longer available.  So if the threaded stud is missing you'll have to buy a used corner piece.  Though, I may be misunderstanding what it is your after.  If so please say so and/or point to what you're after in the picture.

Bingo.  You are right on all counts.  I just need the piece attached to the fender, and it's NLA.  My bad luck.  There were about 6 116s being parted out right down the street that all got hauled away.

Well, I believe that someone on this forum will have what you need.  There were a LOT of U.S. cars, and a LOT are still in existence.  Post a want ad in the classified section.  See what comes up! :)

I think I have an extra US bumper. Can you provide a picture of what you need?

Jed, look at the picture I posted above.  He'll need callout number 192 in the picture.  It must have a threaded stud made into the end of it that goes through the fender.
