Team116 #2: front end tart-up on 450SE

In no particular order:

Repair broken AMG spoiler and paint white
Re-align front bumper
Shorten lower grille and paint black
Cut cold air intake hole into under RH headlight panel
re-paint front filler panel killrust black
relocate battery to boot
killrust and repaint white area under battery
fix up window washer (motor was rusted out)
fit cold air intake pipe
cut hole in bonnet and fit torana a9x scoop

just waiting for some US headlights to complete the upgrade

Nice work... I think the bonnet scoop is not only functional, but it also adds to the track car look.

Looking faster all the time

I just noticed the slot behind the bumper for the cold intake too.  Didn't realise you had cut it out already.  I've wondered if the top bumper would occlude it but I really don't think it matters.  Plenty of air will get in there, besides, sclass' AMG had a hole and screen cut in the same spot on the opposite side for a CAI and when you see w126 or later CAI's the openings aren't exaclty big funnels open at the front.  The air still has to do some twisting and turning to get into the CAI but does it without much difficulty.

looks good makes me think it would be ok on my 6.9 but maybe something smaller like vh group3 bonnet scoop and why the problem about forums anyway at least it is not longhorn sticker that just screams bogan

Yeah I'm not here to tell people which forum to join, but just tell people that they exist and they can make their own decision on which one or more to become a member of.

Re. the look, I though of the VH scoop and then thought since its a 70s car, which is decked out with period addons like an XY GT rear spoiler, AMG front and BBS 1st generation 3 piece wheels I would stick with the 70s torana scoop, even though its more prononced than the 80s VH one.

Interesting point, Oscar did a photoshop of the torana SLR/5000 flares put on my car and it don't look bad at all - maybe he'll post the picture here for you to see and let me know what you all think.

I reckon the arches look awsome    They might be torana arches but the idea was to borrow the look of some of the 450slc rally cars or carlsson w123 coupe.  Got the right wheels too.  Don't think he'll cough em up motec.  I've wanted some ever since he got them.  What do your CSA ones look like? google image search didn't help.
