Sunroof pieces - request for part numbers.

Below is a photo showing two pieces from a sunroof.

The white piece is one of the 6 smaller plastic "runners" - there are also two larger ones.

The dark piece is one of three buffers that are present under the leading edge of the sunroof and in my other roof appear to be felt covered. Ostensibly they are to stop the wind deflector from rattling when the roof is closed but as they age they seem to cause the rattle.

My EPC does not list anything and I would appreciate any knowledge and especially part numbers that others might have.

Bill my blue car is missing one of the white pieces.  I ordered the metal braket it attaches to, thinking it was a unit, but the bracket arrived without the white piece.

Go look at this page of the russian EPC : http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=116036&M=100%2E985&GA=722%2E003&L=765%2E703&cat=040&SID=78&SA=+56167, go to the 4th picture down.

The bracket I ordered is item 272 I think.  I suspect the white piece is item 280.  The rubber piece looks like item 306 don't you think?

On that page click on the item number to get the part number.

I have purchased these when i had the rust cut out from my sun roof - they are called "sliding jaws" and are only about $10 each.

They are not clearly shown in the main EPC but are in an SA number.

the half size sliding jaw is 115 780 00 83 times four
the full size is 108 780 01 83 times two
the other ones are sliding jaw LEFT 123 782 05 30 and RIGHT 123 782 06 30. Two of each.

S class is correct on item 306 too

Thanks Heaps Guys.

I will go to Diesels on Wednesday and try to get the Parts Dept Manager himself as the newer guys have little interest and unless you can give them part numbers they just look blankly at you.

Once you have a number they are quite happy to both go looking as well as get the parts no matter what the trouble for little or a lot of money.

Hi Ryan - it will not give me a number when I click on it - looks like an error mesage in Russian.

Do you have the part no for item 306?

Bill

Bill I'm afraid I don't.  I've just had a look at that page again.  Usually there is a parts listing under the pictures but on that page for some reason its missing.

If you look here http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=123033&M=110%2E984%2C988&GA=722%2E112300%2C309&GM=716%2E001006+++++++++++717%2E400&CT=F&cat=222&SID=78&SGR=030&SGN=02
you see the equivalent page for a W123 280E, and the equivalent part here is item 122 (1237820328 ) - however I'm sceptical that a 123... number would be correct here given that the W123 postdates the W116.  Your safest bet is to go and pull up the relevant W116 page on the EPC at the dealer and show him the part you want.

The only rubber parts I can find are 000 987 18 40 x 2 and 108 987 02 40 x 2 but I have no idea where they go.

Bill, the part number for the 3 rubber buffers your after is  123 782 03 28 times three.

In future - to look up supplementary diagrams - go to your chassis selection, then go to FIND SA, for the sunroof its 56167.

You will see absolutely everything therein.

Thankyou for taking the time Patrick.

Much appreciated - I will go into Diesels tomorrow and see what transpires.

Went into Diesel Motors armed with all the numbers today and the price for a full set of of sliding Jaws and the three buffers is $82.70.

Buffers have to come from Singapore - all the rest is in Melbourne.
