I used to work for a classic car restorer and we saw some awful jobs come in to the shop.

Good to see you got her out before it got too bad.

All the guys i know who do good work have a 12 month waiting list right now, seems the economy isn't as bad as it could be.

Yes,
the panel shop did the final sanding last week.
I was away for an interstate trip to Perth, (met up with TJ and checked out his 560 in the storage shed)
This morning the shop sent me a photo with the message "Merc looks unreal, ready to pick up"

Yes, there appears to have been a problem with the gallery, as I have not been able to gain access either. I would just use Photobucket or ImageShack etc. in the meantime.

Hello oversize,
very happy with the final result, in all the car spent 6 weeks in the panel shop preparing sanding, prime coat then sanding back again.  and 2 days in the paint shop, 4 coats of colour and 3 clear coats. 2 pack paint baked in their oven. looks like a mirror!

The big job now is to refit everything! The sun roof, door glass, windscreen, door trim, interior etc
I have dropped in a job lot to the local powder coating place,
  tow bar, air filter housing, battery carrier, bumper bar brackets and some other bits, they will be sandblasted and powder coated in "satin black" finish.

nice.  very nice. you are just the man to put it all back together. leave of the tow bar! I'm thinking i will take mine off the mohican when i get a couple of hours.
