Finally replacing the wiper-scratched, stone chipped OEM.  Dealer says I need $82 of glue.  Huh?  I thought these windows just used a gasket, which I'm replacing.

You need 3m Bedding and glazing compound.

Hi Rolo,
Check the procedure in the online service manual. A bead of sealant is needed around the sheet metal opening and I also found it was required to use some between the glass and seal (it can be pushed in after the glass is fitted). It will leak otherwise.

The sealant required from Mercedes is part number 001-989-31-20.  It wholesale for $23 and retails for only $30.  If they're charging you more than that then they're ripping you off.  Go somewhere else to buy it.  In fact, google the part number and many results will come up as far as to where to buy it for  the proper price.

Otherwise use what Daniel suggested.  Just make sure that whatever you buy is non hardening.  It must remain pliable.  And take heed to TJ's commentary, too.  The sealant must be applied between the seal and the car, and between the seal and the glass after installation.
