All this rechroming is making me so jealous. My 280 is a great car for what I paid but it has a lot of "warts" to include chrome that is only good from 3-5 yards away. Congratulations Patrick on the bumpers, your photography was plenty good to turn my blue eyes green.

That looks superb PB.  Was there any surface faults previously like pitting on this piece and if so, how did they fill it/fix it?

Very very nice.

Oscar, what they usually do is acid dip the part to strip it back to bare steel.  Then its plated with copper - think of the copper as a filler-coat primer.  The copper is then sanded and buffed to get it smooth.  It takes multiple applications of copper, buffing back in between, until all the pits are filled.  Then its chromed.  Its all this labour for the buffing that makes it an expensive process.

Maybe with the excitement of all the new improvements ....he is turning Japanese ....I really think so.
