Just tried this myself on the weekend! seat fixed! but i bought a higher density foam that wont compress over time. Whoever came up with such a brilliant idea? i looked at the spring and thought "that wont work!" how wrong i was!

where did u get the foam from or where would be a good place to get it. And how great is the solution

The foam can be purchased from a foam shop in varying densities, just look them up in the yellow pages. From what bills pictures showed it appears pool noodles compress over time. I tried standing on a cut piece of this high density foam and id reckon oprah winfrey and john candy sitting on it couldnt flatten it over time. just use a big kitchen knife ruler and youre set. if you place the foam right i dont think youd ever know the springs are broken- feels exactly like the passenger seat- used twice over 35 years.
