Anybody know anything about the pinstripes found on so many cars of our vintage?  MBCA Concourse deducts points for having them. Personally I think they look good, which is probably why so many cars had it done.  But by whom?

Historically done by coach painters with a narrow brush with long bristles and of course a very steady hand. Having seen it done it is really amazingly skilled. Probably get a sign writer to do it. You can of course get a self adhesive thin vinyl coloured tape and do it yourself. They were all self adhesive original production in the 70/80s and looked quite good. I worked for the manufacturer of the film.

I read somewhere that these were applied in the US after the cars got offloaded at the port.  Not 100% sure but it rings a bell. So likely the dealers had a setup where cars were done in batches based on customer request.  I highly doubt this was done at the factory.
