nstrument cluster needles

I didn't want to get off topic in the other threat but this has had been wondering for a while.....

Should the needles on the instruments cluster be orange like this? Most cars I have seen they are a bright yellow or dark orange.

I'd guess definitely not.

My needles turned out very orange if not hot red like the photo shows which wasn't my intention.  Judging from a 350se brochure I have, needles were originally orange much like yours and what mine were like.  The clock needles which were stuck facing down appeared as though they had burned and were going dark grayish.  The other needles just seemed to be fading a little.  I got my inspiration from dudu in one of the speedo threads to repaint mine.  But like his I think we picked the same paint despite living on opposite sides of the globe.  Here's his.
