Title: MB Chemical Products catalog
Post by: rumb on 23 June 2019, 01:53 PM
I stumbled across this interesting catalog of MB service chemicals.

I have been trying to order a can of lock lubricant 002-989-06-51-09 and every site wanted $83 for shipping on a $14 item.  I guess it is a pressurized can so it has special shipping needs?  I will just go to local dealer and order it I guess.

The dealership is your best bet. I bought some this year and it's great! I sprayed some in my buddies 84 300TD ignition and it turns smooth as butter.

Daniel, those online dealers websites are rally bad about ripping people off on shipping.  It doesn't matter if it's a small nut or this small container of oil.  They sometimes charge astronomical shipping.  In the past I've actually called the dealers that the website belonged to to ask them what/where the mistake in shipping was.  Their reply was that the shipping was correct. .......even though it really isn't.  They have no idea what's going on.

Something else these online dealer websites have been doing lately is cancelling your order if the part is in Germany.  A month ago I ordered a new cylinder head for a 1991 350SDL from one of these online dealers.  They cancelled my order, so I called them to ask them why.  They said that it wasn't available.  Now, I knew better, as I checked Paragon before I ordered, and there were nearly 200 of these cylinder heads in stock in Germany.  When I told them about that they simply said, "Sorry, the part is not available!" and hung up on me.  So I guess when it comes to online dealers you have to pick you poison.
