Anyone able to explain the different color codes in EPC?

in the example show why are there 5 different codes for parchment?

what are the 6 codes lines #35? - those I am guess are the interior color code on your build card.  my car is #205

9007 black is always black but the other colors have different codes.

In the left column there are additional foot notes that you have to manually type in to see what they decode to.  These will explain the correlation between the different color codes.

I think I figured it out.

on the part number list in the description column for 116 695 03 97 the footnote says (799, 038)

that says look at the footnote and note line 799 for from/to serial numbers and then look at note line 038 which would tell me the correct color code for my car VIN (with interior code 205 - parchment is NO. 8245.

Now what the heck the difference is between 8245 and the other 4 digit color codes I'm not sure,

but after reading  https://forum.w116.org/interiors-and-exteriors/color-codes/

I have to assume they are still parchment color, but on different fabrics/materials.

I'd imagine that this, for once, might be a thing that the Classic Center might know..or not.

The different three digit codes on line number 35 refer to the different materials used, as well as the cars interior trim code.  In your case, 205 means the following:

The "2" signifies leather interior, and the "05" is the actual color code of the interior as a whole.  Each interior piece will have it's own color code even though it's the same overall color as the rest of the interior.  For comparison, If you had velour interior the trim code would be 905.....the number "9" signifying velour, and "05" signifying the color, parchment in this case.

Likewise with the lower 4 digit codes, they correspond to the same criteria as mentioned above.  It's all about what material the inside of the car has.  Leather, velour, cloth, streifen karo, or vinyl.

Stated perhaps more eloquently by you,  I think that is what I said.

Thanks as always for your knowledge.

PS, I'm jacked as the cloth trim pieces that go around the door openings are still available my correct color!  Need to get them ordered before they disappear.

My apologies, Rumb.  I hadn't realized that what I said was the same that you said.  I must have misinterpreted the underlying meaning of your commentary.

no apologies needed, I think we just approached the answer from different directions.  got the same results so who cares?

I know this has been discussed several times, but it sure is confusing to figure out.  hopefully those that follow will understand better now.
