Interesting Convertible W116

I ran across these pix online. Thought it was a pretty interesting idea on making a 116 a convertible, lol.

I seem to recall that the fellow who had this car totalled it. Perception of beauty is subjective, so no comment. But I think the major concern is rigidity lost when the roof was chopped off.

It does seem to have a "roll bar" between the front and back seats. Not something I would do to my 116. I like the sunroof just fine. But thought it was an interesting looking car.

That convertible's not for sale again is it? That would make about 3 times in the last 3 years, looks to be a darker colour than last time it was around too.

Well, there is a W108 pickup with Euro lights that sometimes pops up in the Portland craigslist. Runs, drives, and looks nice. They only want $1,500 for it, too.
