well it was only a matter of time.... once i saw that beautiful black Hawaiian AMG (500EGuy) i had to do something a little different on ol' gollum . removed the grille insert and the two piece spoiler insert below, sugar soaped and pressure sprayed them all and yep painted the buggers ;D I like it ... gollum just got a case o'bad attitude  8) photos to follow soon. I used White Knight (Aussie Company) Hi Temp, in a flat metallic charcoal, nice with the silver and chrome. and because one thing inevitably follows another... I think i want.... window tint...oh my god :o

These strips are available from the authorised dealers for peanuts - I replaced all mine a month or so ago for less than $20

hello BC,

I thought they should $$ about that... however i was  quoted $38.00 for JUST the vertical strip! I'll call ozbenz

A grill make over does wonders.  Gollum will love you for it.  I did the darker grill too to match the gunmetal black/grey I did to the lower grill halves.

sorry about stuffing up the thread  with my last edit...i had been hoping to barter away a vertical moulding from one of our lucky members but thought i 'd just keep calling around and try to find one or a set at a reasonable cost, still no luck
joey , my youngest boy said "nice grille -who did it? you? no way !! ;D anyone have a dark window tint done (20%) it looks good on the family wagon what about the benz?

nathan

20% is not dark, thats legal!
8%, now thats better!
this photo doesnt do it justice as the interior was stripped so the silver interior makes it look a lot lighter than when my dark blue interior is back on

whilst im powering away with the pic posting...new grill inserts make a hell of a difference, as does replacing that little badge in the middle of the grill which only cost 20 bucks a few years back...you can also see why i needed new number plates!

aren't horse shoes supposed to be good luck ?

Tell that to the horses that end up at the glue factory though, and I think they will disagree.

Just occasionally I have seen a horseshoe on a grille here in Oz - commonly on small trucks in rural communities.
