Title: grille badges
Post by: rumb on 06 September 2018, 10:05 AM
Since the other thread was showing grille badges, here are 2 that I plan on putting on my  6.9.  the first one isnt the one I have, just an example I grabbed.
It is a Germany safe driver program that still exists today.  you can get 10, 20, 30, 40 year badges for good driving and exhibiting good behavior to others....

I thought the euro deliver was a good one as my car is euro, though it didnt actually go thru that program.

Why? You can get them for mileage from Mercedes. I have a  correct period chrome and enamel grille badge for a breakdown service. Have had it for years and each car that I have rebuilt I intended to put the badge on it. I will put it on the 116 its from the days when they rode yellow motorcycles and saluted you if they passed you on the road and you had a badge.

My W108 has 2 high mileage badges and it's preservation class award. My W126 also sports a high mileage award. and I hope to add a preservation class one next to it soon.

I have a 250,000km and a 500,000km mileage badge given to me for free from Mercedes-Benz. I also have a Saudi Arabia grille badge that I purchased from the apparently now-defunct Comet Products since I spent the first twelve years of my life there. Finally, I have a Mercedes-Benz Club of America badge.

I was just about to do just that myself, haha. Era-correct logotypes and such, but I managed to control my Aspergers and let it slide..this time around.

Sadly, no longer available outside the continental US. They've stopped that programme in Europe  a long time ago, and MBUS doesn't accept international applications.

You can get them on eBay, sure, but it's not the same ;)

I have a friend that is just now in process of getting their euro delivery car and she said it comes with a euro delivery grille badge.
