Hi 13B,
They look great, What size rubber? They seem to match the bulk of the W116.

[I had to Google that myself]

RWL = Raised white lettering

Whats so special?? Nothing technical really, they just sort of look at home on muscle cars from the US sold from about 1967 - 1980...

My rationale is that most of those US muscle cars have an agressive stance, loads of chrome, and stupidly large engines... my 6.9 was just begging for the treatment.

They are 245/60SR14, which according to the BFGoodrich web site are designed for a rim width 7"-8.5" wide but I cheated a little and put them on 6.5" wide bundts.... its only 1/2 an inch.

Waiting for Oscar to chime in re. the RWL vs. Whitewall debate we've had previously...

Now I see them!  RWL look too 70's Americana for my taste, I'd prefer the classic whitewalls!

245s fit lik the car was made for them.

The BBS wheels also have 245s on them - same deal - no clearance issues.

Sorry I'm a bit slow.
Nice 13B!!!   If anyone wants to know what's so special about them - they make the car go faster  :D
You're going to find yourself cruising past shop windows so you can see the reflection. 8)

I'd like to see them up close.  I could imagine the walls on 245's really angle out from the rim.  I like 'em 13B though I'm not sure how much cred my 350 has to wear them.  Though, since I'm gonna get those look-a-like pentas on in the new year, RWL's I think I'll admit will suit more than wide whitewalls.  If I was to stick with bundts then I'd go the classic WW.

Each to his own, but those loud letters don't do anything for me.  Then again, I'm someone who will not buy clothing that has labels on the outside (and, if I acquire an externally-labeled garment as a gift, proceed to immediately remove the offensive tag).

Thank god the lettering on a Benz is minimal - as it is on Royces.  No need to shout the obvious.

But, hey, if the RWL make the car go faster or give it better grip, go for them.   ;D

Do the wide tyres rub.

My 6.9 has 225/55/16 (Non-RWL) and the paint is rubbed off  the "brake reaction rod" where the tyres rub on full lock.

225/55/16 also have an identical rolling circumference to the original 215/70/14
