Euro corner front Chrome bumper to be replaced from US Version Rubber Corner

I was just finding ways to get rid of the ugly rubber corner pieces on the US version bumper. I've noticed that on the Euro version, the corners can be removed. I was wondering if anyone had tried to just purchase the chrome corners and fitted to the US bumpers to get rid of the rubber corners?

It won't work due to many differences between the two styles of bumpers.  Even if one could put a Euro corner on a U.S. bumper it would look very strange due the the size difference and the fact that U.S. bumpers have polished stainless steel bumper coverings and the Euro versions are chromium plated.

I agree with that UTn_boy said. Even though you could MAKE it fit (I have seen people install W108 bumpers on a W116), it would look odd.

I would gladly exchange the complete US version bumpers with you and give you the euro ones

It's really too bad that the US bumpers look so awful, and that euro bumpers are so hard to find / expensive.

I wonder if there's something a w116 owner could do about the ugly bumper besides get a euro one.

Maybe one could dip the complete chrome bumpers into a liquid ABS bath, and color both corners and bumpers the same style.
