remove door handle from car and see if a pin is missing, or buy a replacement. on the side of door near handle is a oval lug, remove and there are 2 allen screws, then slide handle forward and it will come out of the door.
is it a front or rear door handle.

RUMB, it's a front left door handle. See the keyhole in it?
Also, there is a set screw at the forward side of the handle, and the door panel has to come off to gain access to the screw that holds the door handle tight to the door.
I'm trying to remove the door panel currently, I am almost there, however the manual window crank is preventing me from removing the panel. Any idea how to remove it? Thanks.
I haven't completely removed the door panel, but I can see the handle from the inside, it looks as if a pin has popped out from it.
I almost have the door handle out, however, after removing the two hex screws and the one on the inside of the door panel, I still can't get it to come out.
Finally got it out, just had to whack it a few times ;D. The pin that holds the handle to the lock mechanism is missing. Where do I get a replacement pin?
I think you need just a simple roller pin that you can get from your favorite auto parts store, hardware store, or junkyard.
Just bring the handle with you to get the right sized roller pin.
Alternatively, you can make or use a rivet instead of a roller pin.
There is a good chance you will find your existing pin inside the door shell. (yes you need to take the door card off)
This has happened to me before and the pin was sitting at the bottom inside the frame.
An annoying but simple fix.

How simple is it to put my lock into your handle?
I looked around and did not find a ready answer, how do you change the lock cylinder on a front door handle?
I could not find a definitive post but this one show a door handle taken apart.
So if you get a new handle you could take it apart and swap the part with the lock in it.
