Title: Cutting out rust in Adelaide
Post by: Andreas on 26 March 2006, 03:28 PM
Hi

Does anybody know of someone in Adelaide who will cut out some rust cheaply.
I am trying to get a 450sel roadworty here...if it does not cost to much it will be worth it as the car still has a good engine and trans seem to be ok.

Thanks
Andreas

Call a couple of lower-price used car lots - they almost always have friends/wholesale arrangements with back-shed bodyshops and can perhaps refer you.  Price should be about 25 - 50% cheaper then retail shops with signs and advertisements....

Hi i have a 78 280sel I would be very interested in who you end up using for rust repair. I know the first thing that needs to be done on my car is the lhs sill panel. rusted through now needs to be replaced or patched. engine and gear box very good. has been S.A car since new. Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Now thats a rare car. Made less of those than a 6.9 if I remeber correctly.

When I get home I will get you the information. This person has been recomended to me by a my crash repairer who specializes in fixing mercs (have met him through work as i maintain a small fleet of cars). I have not used the rust guy yet as no time and just bought a 6.9 which is being fixed as we speak. This bloke will cut out and fix the rust but not paint it. He is up north around Elizabeth way if i remeber correctly.

This guy must be good if my crash bloke has recomended him.

PM you soon.

Andreas
