Maybe some of you can shed some light on the super-rare factory 6.9 chin spoiler story? Not fancy AMG upgrades, just the simple, modest air dam below the lower grill. I've seen practically no 6.9 pictures with it. And no other W116 pictures with it either for that matter. Was it standard or an option? Where are they now? All smashed off over the years? Or just not there in the first place? Finally, if you had one that was a little scuffed, would you paint it or just leave it alone? Don't ask why I;m asking. ::)
Only used on 6.9 and most have been smashed by curbs.
Plastic welding could fix cracks. Vinyl dye/ paint might freshen it up, I would try super fine steel wool to see if that cleans it up first.
Ah yes, the lesser spotted 6.9 chin spoiler, the very definition of "unobtainium" ;D

Check the old threads on this, here on the forum. There's a lot of it, and maybe a good time to revisit.

and the last is the "fancy" omg spoiler?

I'm talking about pictures 1 and 2 -the chin spoiler, air dam or whatever you want to call it. I did some searching here but not all that much info. Apparently there was a stock of 200 units in Germany but that was many years ago.
