I just got a new cdplayer, and when i was going to put it in i noticed that the "hole" for the stereo is very big. do you guys have any tips on what to do?

If original, the cutout for the stereo is something of about DIN size. You should be able to slide in a unit of your choice without any hassles.

It looks like this in my car.   like 5 mm wider then my stereo.

It looks like you might be missing the plastic divider that is normally situated between the head unit and the ash tray... these often get broken. I would just cut off a piece of plastic/timber to use as a packing piece and wedge it in there beneath the head unit... if you paint it black you probably won't even see it. You could use some Sikaflex or some such product to adhere it to the console/ashtray.

Hi Bulba - What did you do with the old one?
I am looking for a '70s Becker unit for my '75 280SE, if you have an original you don't want, let me know.
Thanks,
Chris

I just made a wooden box, this is the result:

Looks better in real life, but still not perfect, works for me though =)
