Title: Car covers?
Post by: BCDC on 20 July 2020, 09:59 PM
Hi there Mercedes nuts, My dear old W116 is kept in a car port rather than a closable garage and the sun and dust gets in, so I want to get the car a cover of some sort but want one that doesn't hurt the paint of chrome if it flaps a little in the wind that blows past. Has anyone had experience with car covers and what types are best? Thanks in advance.

I have used   weathershield hp covers for many years. They are supersoft and won't scratch at all. Though made of a thin material they will keep your car spotless underneath even if left out in all kinds of weather.  They have a 4 year warranty which is about as high as you can get. They are very durable and every few years I toss them in the washing machine. They are not inexpensive but I think very much worth the price.

I bought a cheapie off of Amazon I think it was "Motor Trend" or something, mostly just a dust cover and not recommended for outdoor.  If they get wet they cling to the car and it'll ruin your paint in time.
