Bought a Zebrano center console....
« on: 27 March 2006, 03:49 PM »

...just won this for $10 including shipping - like all I've seen for sale it has cracks in the finish, and I'm thinking it will be best to sand it and recoat it with poly since these are always catching spills....I already have a zebrano ashtray on hand.

Guess I'll have to use that reindeer to take our friend to dinner if I ever get to Finland!

DO NOT SAND! YOU WILL TAKE THE VERY THIN VANEER OFF.
With best regards

FYI, in case no one's done this before...

http://www.diymbrepair.com/Wood/

Haven't tried it myself, but depending on the long-term fate of my car, I plan to do the center console and the ACC trim at some point (the ACC trim has the normal 4 cracks; the center console's riddled with cracks). I think the rest of the wood in my 116's happy...

I knew you would be able to get it from there as ebay is full of 116 parts, have bought them myself a lot too.  But this was really low priced. (The german ebay is good too, www.ebay.de).

This zebrano is quite dark, and it is just like mine.

If you get here I will have enough reindeer stuffed in the boot of my 116 that you dont need to bring any deers at all. 8)
