I thought I would try out my new wet sander on a door I am about to strip.
The paint had quite a bit of orange peel from a previous repaint. Started with 1000 grit and followed with 2000. Then buffed with 3M regular and then fine compound.  The results were very good.  I did learn not to get near any edges when doing this. This was difficult to photograph, but I think you will be able to see the differences. You wont be able to see, but I can see sand marks left behind in the primer layer.  All of that bleeds thru to the finish layer.  Proper sanding is imperative!

Robert, 1 question, I am assuming the 1000 and 2000 grit is wet sand, correct?  What I know on bodywork is dangerous ;D

Yes, the blue hose on the sander is a water feed. I should have pointed that out.  That makes the sanding go very quickly.
