Becker for W116

Hi all,

Sorry my bad English. I am looking for a list of Beckers that came in the W116 year by year. Is it possible and avaiable?

Another question: I recently owned a euro 450SEL 6.9, but without the datacard. How can I know the original Becker for my car?

Thanks!

CraigS

Irrespective of whether you have the data card or not, it will not tell you the model number. You need to have the Becker book that came with the car to know exactly which one it was. Most common was the Europa, followed by the Grand prix, then the Mexico. You also need to them know the Becker model number, most of which started with a 3 around that time.

Thank you CraigS,

Unfortunately I don't have the Becker book. A Becker Mexico cassette is in my car, and I'd just like to be sure that model is the original for the 6.9.

It could possibly look like this if it is a Mexico. Sorry it is not very close up. It might also have the older style as per the W109's.

Yes, CraigS! Exactly this model :D. My 6.9 is 1978. Do you know where can I get or buy a manual (or a copy) of this Becker?

When I owned the car, an ordinary CD player was installed on it, as you can see the photo, but the Becker Mexico, actually being repaired, came apart.

They do turn up on eBay occasionally, or you could try a wrecking yard. They are not terribly collectible (except for those that want one) so it should not be too difficult to find. They were also found in W123's.
