Armrest & Central Locking

Hi - first time to post (anything anywhere actually) so not sure if this is the route to go.

Anyway, I have a 1977 280SE and would like to source a centre armrest for the drivers and maybe passenger side, with fitting kit etc. Any ideas out there please?

Also as the 280 was my first foray into MBZ, does the '77 have central locking fitted or will I constantly have to   r  e  a  c  h  over and let my passenger in?

Any help/advice welcome.

Welcome to the forum. I've never seen a W116 without a central armrest but MB low spec models can be pretty low on mod cons. Presumably if there is no central armrest there are also manual windows? The armrests on RHD cars are normally fitted to the passenger seat. You may need to install a new passenger seat if yours does not have a slot for inserting an armrest. I have a cream velour armrest on my parts car.

You can find lots of info about central locking by searching on this forum. You can fix it yourself given a hand held vacuum pump but it can take some time to diagnose.
