I noticed Big Ricahrds photo in the Gallery of his 4 brand new disks...curious has anyone looked at upgrading brakes to Brembos or similar? I imagine with 16 inch rims you could go a bit bigger on disks......any real benefit on a car like this (esp when it isnt really a track car!!)...open to thoughts and comments!
If you move up a size to 16" rims you wont get much bigger brakes fitted. It is possible to fit the W126 discs, being in Australia you could use the DBA vented discs at front that are designed for the W126. Then head off to a wrecker and get W126 calipers and see if the can be made to mount up to the W116 suspension. There will of course be a notceable improvement in braking, you may then have to go for ABS to stop the fronts locking up.
How about fitting the Bosch ABS unit from a euro W116?
I don't think we ever got ABS here but was definately on the euro cars.
