Title: 75 280S Center Console Removal
Post by: postman70 on 16 July 2020, 09:16 PM
Hello all, got lucky and found my cars twin that someone is parting out. I'm in desperate need of a center console. Was wondering if someone has directions on taking one of these things out. Do the front seats need to be removed? Any hidden screws I should know about. I'm trying to limit how much time I spend stripping that thing 😉

Yes, front seats need to be removed.  There are screws up front down low and also in back.

To remove seats, slide forward remove 2 rear floor bolts and then remove the big spring under the seat, slide back and remove 2 front bolts.

Be warned though that the spring which controls the seat height is extremely tight and getting it back in is "fun" :o

Assuming both your seat adjustments work properly, you don't need to remove that spring. I have never removed it when taking the front seats out. Not needed.
