6.9 brochure

The following brochure was plageurised from the MB Finland site. Note the clock dial, and the tacho redlined at 5000 rpm. No date on the brochure, but there is no mistaking the engine.

I actually have this brochure - came with the paperwork with my 6.9 - I'll check it for consistency when I get home.

What difference do you notice Craig?
To me the clock has minute markings which seems to be an earlier version of the clock.  I can't remember what was established in another thread about the redline for a 6.9.

From my recollection of theclock discussion, none of the 6.9's - early or late - had the minute markings, but I could be mistaken. The tacho however should be 5200 or 5300 - unless this is for a US version.

I just went out and checked mine. #'s 5557 and 6230, both Oz delivered, are redlined at 5300, as is #7114 Euro spec.

I read an early (Euro) road test of the 6.9 (1975) and they said that the redline was at 5000.
I'm thinking maybe the later 6.9's had the slightly higher redline.

(Remember, they changed some things on the later ones like the Zebrano wood to Burl and full wood not just the dash.)

Oooppps - Nice delayed response 13B ... I was never good at getting homework in on time either.

Anyway, my 6.9 brochure is exactly the same, just in the data section has a spec sticker stuck over the power specs changed to the Australian delivery specs.

Which also states my engine is 8.0:1 CR, 510Nm/198kW unit that will run on 91RON minimum - see my other thread about E10 and running engines on various unleaded grades.
