After replacing the brake lines and the gas lines on my new-to-me purchase, my 1976 450se is a joy to drive.  But the driver's seat feels lumpy.  Like an old mattress.

What are my options?

Depending on how bad a shape the seat springs are in, there are essentially two options:
- put some foam inside the springs to stiffen them
- rebuild the seat with new springs

I have done the foam thing on my drivers seat.  A specific measure to a helpful foam specialist shop has resulted in a seat that feels as good as new at a cost of less than $20 and relatively little hassle.
There are posts in the interiors section of the site that give blow-by-blow instructions and measurements.
